THE PROPOSAL STORY
How Andrew Proposed to Daisy...
n 2023, a week before the June long weekend, is where our story begins.
While at his house, Junior, Daisy’s brother, mentions that he was given three free tickets for a hot air balloon experience and wants to know if her and Andrew wanted to come too.

Suprised, Daisy immeditely questions why he didn't offer the opportunity to their parents first. Nervously, Junior explains that their parents wouldn't want to go as they were too old for something like this, and plus, they are scared of heights!
Daisy didn’t believe him FOR A SECOND knowing full well that her parents would have jumped at the chance.
In a flash, Daisy called her Mum, exclaiming how mad she was for her parents for not accepting the opportunity *Andrew and Junior are sweating, hoping that Daisy’s Mum doesn’t give anything away.* Calmly, Mary (Daisy's Mum, who had been briefed beforehand on what is happening) more or less repeats what Junior said.
Huh! Daisy thinks. Perhaps Junior WAS telling the truth.
Coming home to Andrew, Daisy tells him of the awesome opportunity Junior invited them to, and if it's something he would be interested in. Expecting an instant decline, Andrew replies, “That’s mad. Yeah, I’d be down!”. Suspicious. Andrew normally needs a bit more convincing than this. Instead of questioning the scenario, Daisy dismisses it, not wanting the excitement to drop if it was just her imagination.
Throughout the week, Junior suggests the King’s Birthday weekend as the potential timing. Daisy questions, “I’d be down, but I’m not sure if Andrew would want to go that soon.” He asks Daisy to just ask him, and suggests she wears something nice. Why? Because he wants to take photos of them for his photography portfolio...
Ok. That's a little strange, Daisy. No, don't be silly. Thought locked away.
Sunday comes, and it's Evelyn's birthday! They organise a family lunch and she suggests that they get their nails done... BOMBASTIC SIDE EYE. 100% there is some conspiring going on. Her suspicions only grow heading back to her family home for dinner, before the pair head home.
Sleep does not come easy for either of them this night, so they stay up a bit longer - Andrew playing his games, Daisy cuddling next to him on his gaming room couch, watching. It's not long before they can finally calm down for bed.
Alarms blaring at 2am, with little sleep, they are all up - Daisy, doing her make up and hair for the photoshoot, Andrew, getting dressed, and Junior double checking that he has all his camera equipment. Surprisingly all are ready, the group are flying out of the house at 3am; On the road to the Hunter Valley.
While sitting in the back of the car on the way to the Hunter, a thought flutters in Daisy's mind. She considers taking a photo of her hand with text over the top, teasing “Is he proposing or are we just going on a hot air balloon in the Hunter Valley?” to her friends. No, surely not. She decides against it in the off chance she jinxs it. They get to the Hunter Valley in record time by 5am! FYI: It's normally a 3 hour drive.
When they arrive, it’s extremely dark. They have arrived at this expansive field where the balloons are being prepared for their sunrise flight. Dawn hits, and they are hurriedly ushered on to their hot air balloon, no time to take photos. Well ok!
As they ascend, Daisy peers over at Andrew, wanting to enjoy the view together... CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! I don't have any room on my phone! Panic sweeps over Andrew, as he is frantically trying to delete large files. Got to love technology, don't you?!
There is enough space by the time Andrew and Daisy are 10,000 feet in the air.
Andrew hands his phone to Junior to record. Here we go.
He turns to face Daisy.
Eyes locked, he confesses: “You’re the girl of my dreams and I’ve loved you since the day I saw you in year 7 Japanese class….”.
Cue annoying hot air balloon gas pressure release.
“Will you marry me?” presenting the gorgeous, custom ring.
Daisy covers her face as she tries to hold back tears.
Unfortuatnely, due to the air balloon gas release, she doesn’t hear Andrew ask the question. So as he removes the ring out of the box and attempts to slide it on her finger, Daisy immediately stops him - “Hey! You haven’t asked me yet and I haven’t said yes.”.
Andrew, bewildered, restates "Uh, I did.".
"OH. Well, yes I will marry you” Daisy proclaims, and they seal the deal with kiss and hug.

Their meeting was written in the stars,
their friendship and their love is true as it could be.
So as the sun rises in East, both a little scared, neither one prepared
this is only the start of their next adventure...
